Skylar Castro

Skylar is friends with Lee and the person who shelters him while he is being hunted down.

Appearance

Skylar is a short Hispanic person with electric blue hair styled in a side shave. They have brown eyes and a prosthetic left leg from just above the knee. The prosthetic leg is painted with Skylar’s art of fish, fields, and stars. Post Lab arc, their legs are replaced with a black bird leg with talons and a metal prosthetic with talons. Their wings are black on top and mostly grey on bottom with a patch of white on the secondary feathers. Their tail is black with white tips. Skylar’s iconic outfit is a pink shirt with red sleeves and red, white, and blue stripes on the chest and pale maroon shorts.

Personality

Skylar is empathetic and intelligent, while also being a little mischievous. They are deeply interested in the natural world, space in particular, and love having keepsakes and photos.

Story

Zoo Arc

Skylar found Lee after he left Avi to be recaptured by the zoo. While helping him clean his wounds, they realized that he was one of the escaped zoo animals that were being shown on the news. They were quick to reassure him that they wouldn’t turn him in, but also help him free Avi from the zoo.

After several days of planning, the two went to the zoo during one of Avi’s shows and broke her out, but Skylar was captured instead. The scientists at the zoo experimented on them, giving them wings, a bird tail, and bird legs, replacing their prosthetic leg with a metal bird leg instead.

Lab Arc

Through unknown means, Skylar was taken from the zoo and found their way to the lab that Avi and the gang were brought to after Sisko. They were put in stasis and studied until the gang broke out and the lab sicc’d them on the kids. Lee was able to snap them out of it and joined them in their journey home.

Home Arc

The kids drove home, making slow progress as to not catch any attention and frequent stops, as Avi was the only one able to drive and they were consumed with guilt about Redwood and Salvador.

They finally arrived at Avi’s parent’s home and they welcomed them with open arms, inviting the others to stay with them.
